Editable grid and read-only grid controls deprecated

Since March 2026, the Editable Grid and Power Apps Read-Only Grid controls in model-driven apps get critical security fixes only. They still work for now. Find the views and subgrids that use them and move them to the Power Apps grid control, which handles both read-only and inline editing.

Model-driven apps: the classic look is gone

From the 2026 release wave 1 (April 2026), every model-driven app uses the modern look and makers can no longer switch back to the classic look. App logic, data and permissions don't change. Update training material and screenshots that still show the classic look.

  • Power BIRetiredUpdate gateways to May 2026+

Older on-premises data gateways need an update to keep signing in

Microsoft changed how gateways sign in, and finished applying the change to every tenant by 31 August 2026. Gateways older than the May 2026 release, or January–April 2026 releases below the patched build, may fail to sign in when you install, configure, recover or manage them. Update them, one cluster member at a time.

  • Power AutomateRetiredNo action

Help chatbot removed from the Power Automate maker portal

From September 9, 2026, the help chatbot in the lower-left corner of the maker portal is gone. Flows aren't affected. Point anyone who used it, and any training material, to the Help (?) menu in the upper-right corner.

  • Power AutomateRetiredMove approvers to Teams

    Power Automate mobile app retired

From August 31, 2026, Microsoft no longer supports the iOS and Android app and removes it from the app stores. Cloud flows and approvals keep working. Approvers should use the Approvals app in Teams, and flows that send mobile notifications should switch to a Teams message or an email.

  • Power BIRetiredUpdate Power BI Desktop

Old Power BI Desktop versions lose OneDrive and SharePoint saving

From October 2026, Power BI Desktop versions from March 2026 or earlier can no longer save and share files to OneDrive and SharePoint, because the old file picker is being retired. Update Power BI Desktop to keep saving there.

  • Power PagesDeprecatedCheck table permissions and roles

Power Pages forms and lists always use table permissions

From June 2026, Power Pages enforces table permissions on every form and list, whatever the Enable Table Permissions setting says. A form or list that worked because the setting was off now needs a table permission tied to the right web role. For anonymous access, use a table permission on the Anonymous Users role.

  • Power PagesRetiredList Web API columns explicitly

Power Pages Web API no longer accepts * for table columns

Since 14 September 2026, a Webapi/<table>/fields site setting of * no longer works on any Power Pages site, and Web API calls to those tables fail. New sites couldn't use it from August 2026. Replace * with the logical names of the columns your code uses, or use the Power Pages Web API Columns system view. An admin can request a short extension under Manage exemptions.
