Power Platform licensing calculator, the honest maths.

Put in your own numbers and see which licence costs less a month: Power Apps Premium or the per app meter, Pro for everyone or an F64, Power Pages packs or pay-as-you-go.

Power Apps

Premium or the per app meter?

Premium licenses a person for every app. The meter charges $10 for each person who opens a given app in a month.

An average. 1.5 means some open one, some open two.

A month, in US dollars

  • Power Apps Premium ($20 a person)$4,000
  • The per app meterCheaper$1,200

The meter is cheaper by $2,800 a month. With 60% active, the meter costs the same as Premium when each active person opens 3.3 apps a month.

  • The meter doesn't count people who already have Premium, or people with Microsoft 365 using an app with only standard connectors.
  • The meter needs an Azure subscription linked to the environment. Premium's $12 and $14 prices apply to 2,000 or more new licences.

Power BI

Pro for everyone, or an F64?

Authors always need Pro or PPU. On an F64 capacity or larger, people with only the Viewer role can view for free.

A month, in US dollars

  • Pro for everyone ($14 a person)Cheaper$4,340
  • F64 reserved for a year, plus Pro for authors$5,142.67
  • F64 pay-as-you-go, plus Pro for authors$8,549.60

Pro for everyone is cheaper. The reserved F64 costs the same as Pro for about 358 viewers.

  • F64 prices are for East US: $0.18 per capacity unit hour for 730 hours, or the one-year reservation. Prices vary by region.
  • An F64 also runs lakehouses, warehouses and notebooks. Below F64, every viewer needs Pro or PPU.

Power Pages

Capacity packs or pay-as-you-go?

Each website is counted per unique user per calendar month, with separate prices for signed-in and anonymous visitors.

A month, in US dollars

Signed-in users

  • 3 packs of 100 at $200Cheaper$600
  • Pay-as-you-go at $4 a user$1,200

Anonymous visitors

  • 4 packs of 500 at $75Cheaper$300
  • Pay-as-you-go at $0.30 a user$600

Pay-as-you-go is cheaper below 50 signed-in users or 250 anonymous visitors a month, if the packs would be at their highest price.

  • Pack prices fall at volume: the tier depends on how many packs your organisation buys in all.
  • Trial, private and developer sites aren't counted, and staff with Power Apps Premium often aren't either.
